Clyde Grammar School Breaks Ground at Smiths Lane
Mirvac was delighted to welcome the Honourable Jordan Crungale MP, the Clyde Grammar Prep and Year 1 students, their teachers and principal Leanne Evans, members of the CSV board, parents and the Mirvac Team to celebrate this special ground-breaking milestone.
The children were excited to hear about their new school and the exceptional learning environment they will enjoy, before having the opportunity to hold one of the Mirvac gold shovels and 'break ground' on the site of the Clyde Grammar campus. They then accompanied their parents, Clyde Grammar staff and other guests on an exclusive tour, stepping foot along outlines of the future building - looking forward to one day being able to tell their story of this historic event.
It was lovely to hear from Clyde Grammar students and staff about their exciting move to their new campus at Smiths Lane and see the vision of both Smiths Lane and Clyde Grammar come to life.
Construction of the school is scheduled to begin in several weeks, creating 120 full-time jobs and will allow for up to 1,200 students when Prep to Year 12 enrolment occurs. In preparation for the campus opening, Clyde Grammar has already begun enrolments with a total of 144 Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students set to start in 2022 at the brand-new school. These numbers will continue to increase each year with new students across all year levels beginning each year.
Stage 1 of Clyde Grammar will include a two-storey Primary Centre comprising 14 primary classrooms, 7 studio/breakout learning areas, a common collaborative learning area, library, student amenities, disabled toilets, sickbay, staff offices and reception area, and outdoor learning and play areas.
Upon completion, the school is planned to include a learning centre, chapel, middle school, double-storey Year 7 building, VCE Centre, performing arts centre, gymnasium, and centres for art, science, and technology. Indoor and outdoor sports facilities will include multipurpose courts, senior football oval, sports pavilion and numerous courtyards and play areas.
Clyde Grammar will be a wonderful addition to the Smiths Lane Community and the wider community of Clyde North and the City of Casey.
