At home in my community

Artwork by Smiths Lane students and Yan Yan Candy Ng.

‘Home’ is much more than the buildings we live in. ‘Home’ is also a feeling. It’s the space where you can always be yourself. It is a sense of belonging in the place we live and within our wider community.

Clyde Grammar and Topirum Primary School have been part of our community since the very beginning of the Smiths Lane neighbourhood. Students have seen the community grow and new homes appear as each term passes.

Mirvac was excited to collaborate with both schools and artist Yan Yan (Candy) Ng to create artwork for an outdoor gallery exploring the theme of ‘home’.  In an art workshop facilitated by Candy, Topirum Primary School’s Year 5 and 6 students and Clyde Grammar’s Year 3 students used mixed materials to draw their dream homes and created word art with words that remind them of home. The artwork was brought together with illustrations by Candy.
